Managed by
the mysterious, hidden Overseer, the Sinister Circus™ travels from town to
town, leaving a wake of terror…and never a single trace of their passage.
Meet the Ring Mistress; she is the only one who ever speaks or even sees the
Overseer. Spending time with her horses, she craves control of them, and
everything else around her. Teezer and Giggles are the torturous henchmen
who carry out the orders of the Overseer, and some antics of their own;
whereas Teezer has a bag of tricks that will subdue you, Giggles will simply
watch you breakdown tear by tear. Enter a Centaur – He is a lonely teenage
boy, the only known of his kind, who does not speak our language. When he
meets a special young girl who can understand him, she discovers that he can
read minds, and he knows of the Circus’ evil plans. After hearing inhuman
cries of pain, our young Waif, steals away inside a circus most foul to
learn of the source of the cries. She discovers the teenage centaur, and an
instant friendship is born when he discovers she can understand his special
language. Upon witnessing the miracle of communication, the Ring Mistress
orders the Waif’s abduction. Through her captivity, the Waif meets a
collection of the bizarre: Brute – A mute monster, he knows only violence
and rage. His anger quickens through his frustration of not being able to
speak. Lucine – once a talented horseback gymnast, she is lured into the
circus by the Painted Lady; she becomes trapped in a spell of dependence and
surrender. The Painted Lady – A woman who turned her body into a canvas to
gather the attention of those around her, and discovering she has only
turned them against her, instead. Her misery is so intense, others must
succumb to her. Madame Myst – she was once the pride of her day as a gifted
seer; now she knows only the old magic that is seen as worthless to most.
Sheehee – a confused, tortured soul who constantly speaks rapid fire to
his/herself. The Bearded Lady – She thought joining the circus would bring
acceptance; but she now knows she would rather face rejection by the real
world rather than acceptance in this. And The Oddities – Three half-human,
half-animal aberrations resulting from a horrific science lab experiment
when three rising young science students conduct experiments, only to become
subject of the experiments themselves at the hands of Teezer and Giggles.
Not only are they left as otherworldly oddities, but they cannot speak –
until the Centaur meets the Waif and communication opens their eyes.
NOTE: Other characters shown are prototypes only and are not currently being
